Mrs Chitom Rachael Ezinwannem John-Akamelu (Onweluzor) was born in Nnewi , Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State. She began her formal education in 1977, got her SSCE certificate in 1990, NCE in 1993, B.Sc in 2002, M.Sc in 2013 , In the year 2019, she got her Doctor of Philosophy of Science Degree (Ph.D) in Accounting with specialization in taxation. She is the first woman in the whole of Anambra State to hold such degree. She joined the services of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2005 as senior non-teaching staff. In 2014, she was converted to lectureship position and posted to Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, where she held various Administrative positions such as, Chairman ,Entrepreneurship Studies Department Curriculum Committee 2014, Examination Officer 2014, Coordinator, Students Practicals and Exhibition 2014, Chief editor, Entrepreneurship Studies Students Information/Handbook 2016, Staff Adviser,National Association of Entrepreneurship Students (NAES) Unizik Chapter, Coordinator, Departmental IT/SIWES programme 2015-Date, Assistant Coordinator, ENT 200 (Entrepreneurship Education and New Venture Creation) University wide course 2015-2017, Chairman, Committee on initial Departmental Accreditation Exercise 2017 that earned the department full Accreditation status, Secretary, Fac. of Mgt. Sciences Conference Traveling and Grant Committee 2016-2018. Member,Faculty of Mgt. Sci,Staff Welfare Committee 2018-Date. Member, Faculty of Mgt.Sci,library & ICT Mgt.Committee 2018-Date. Member, Faculty of Mgt.Sci,Students Advisory Committee 2018-Date.etc. Chitom belongs to many learned societies, religious and social organizations, including Diocese of Awka Anglican communion, her home parish church, her home town where he hold the post of the Chairman, Inyom Nnewi Welfare Association , Awka branch and other religious organizations where she holds sensitive positions. Chitom is also an active member of Administrative Staff of Nigeria (ASN), Teachers Council of Nigeria (TCN), The Academy of Management Nigeria (TAMN), Fellow, Corporate Institute of Administration (FCAI) etc, Chitom has won many Awards such as, 2018 Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to Educational Administration/Fellowship by Institute of Corporate Administration, FCT Abuja, 2018 Paul Harris Fellow Award by Rotary Club International Unizik Awka, for Distinguished Vocational Excellence Service etc. Chitom is happily married to Mr John Ikechukwu Akamelu with two blessed children for now.Interest Includes: Accounting, Public Finance, Entrepreneurship and Management Sciences.
