Afamefuna Victor EGWUONWU (PhD) is a Lecturer and researcher in the field of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in the Department of Medical Rehabilitation at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Anambra State, Nigeria. He has been involved in many research projects which investigated the Musculoskeletal disorders of various occupational groups such as quarry miners, string instrumentalist, automobile mechanics to mention but a few. He is currently working on sports and physical activity research. His academic vision includes establishing a physical activity research consortium in Africa, in line with actualizing the WHO 2018 action plan for physical activity in the continent. He is an avid researcher with a high level of research productivity. He was a recipient of Federal Republic of Nigeria TETfund Academic Staff Training and Development Scholarship, 2015
Undergraduate Qualifications
He obtained his Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2007)
Postgraduate Qualifications
He obtained a Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy, from the University of Lagos (2012) and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Kinetics & Ergonomics from Rhodes University, South African
Professional Qualifications
He is Licensed to practice Physiotherapy, by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria.
Previous Employment
He had previously worked in Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano (2008-2009) and Muritala Mohammed Specialist hospital Kano (2009-2010). He was also appointed a consultant Physiotherapist to Iyienu Specialist Hospital (2012 -2015).
