Onukwube Alex Alfred Anedo is an Anthropologist and Associate Professor in the Department of African & Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in Anambra State of Nigeria. He has the following degrees and certificates: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in African Culture and Civilization; Master of Arts (M.A) in African Culture and Civilization; Master of Chinese Philosophy in Chinese Culture and Anthropology; B. A. Ed/Igbo/Linguistics (Hons.); Nigerian Certificate in Education, Diploma in Chinese Studies, West African School Certificate and First School leaving Certificate. He is the first Nigerian to study African Culture & Civilization; first Nigerian and second African to study Chinese Culture and Anthropology, and first around the Globe to specialize in SINO/AFRO Cultures & Anthropology. His areas of research interest are African and East Asian Cultures and Anthropology. Anedo joined Nnamdi Azikiwe University since 2006 and since then, he has been teaching Research Methodology, Names among the Igbo, Igbo Traditional Medicine, Igbo Traditional Music, Rites of passage, Comparative Studies among Igbo and other Nigerian Cultures, Cults and Traditional Beliefs, Introduction to the History of the Igbo People, Introduction to the History of Igbo People and their Language, Introduction to the Chinese Culture, Introduction to Chinese Characters and Pronunciations, Introduction to Igbo philosophy, Theories of Culture, Igbo Political System, History of Cultural Studies, etc.
